The Hands of Love
Food Programs |
|

provides meals for extremely poor families
and individuals through a food bank and a hot
meals program in the heavily poverty
stricken areas of inner city West Palm Beach, Riviera Beach and Pleasant
City. Individuals and families can pick up perishable and non-perishable
packages of food; hot meals are served three days a week. Along with the
hot meals, we provide information about available social services,
nutrition, buying and
preparing low cost nutritional food
and health issues.
Hours of Operation:
Wednesday and Friday: 9:30 am – 10:30 am
Thursday: 12 pm – 1:00
pm.

Educational
Enhancement |

|
is a twofold program
designed to help children learn to read, improve their reading, develop
a love for books and improve performance in all of their schoolwork.
Awesome Eagles Literacy Club focuses on improving reading and writing
skills and helping develop a love for reading. Tigers Tutor Time
provides tutors to work one-on-one with students to raise their skill
level in all subjects and improve overall school performance.
Hours of Operation:
Monday: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm Saturdays: 10:00 am - 12 noon

Green Thumb Experience Works |
| |
Provides Senior Citizens
55 and older at our organization. We provide basic computer, practical
office skills, recording and record keepings skills, and literacy skills
to re-enter the workforce.

Parenting Project |
| |
serves parents of high-risk and acting out
teenagers and adolescents. Workshops meet once a week for 10 weeks and
are designed to improve parenting skills and techniques to reduce
children’s destructive and illegal behavior (drugs, cutting classes,
dropping out of school, running away, violence, theft, gang activity,
other criminal activity, etc.). An additional component of the program
consist of a teen curriculum for Personal and Social Responsibility and
Loving Solutions, which is a program for Parents with acting out
children ages 5 – 10 years of age. All of these programs are licensed
under the Department of Children and Family Services.

Family Financial
Management |

has helped over 50 families gain control over their
finances (budgeting, credit issues, planning for the future and other
financial matters). |

Preparation and Career Development |

helps prepare teens and young adults to succeed in high
school, college and in the workplace. African American professionals
from Representatives from various colleges and universities along with
staff provide workshops on campus and at EHCO. |
| Clothes
For Success |

is a workforce development program to help unemployed and
underemployed local residents acquire jobs and achieve a life
self-sufficiency by providing free professional attire to wear on job
interviews and at work. This program works in conjunction with various
local community organizations. |

Moving Upward Bus
Pass Program |
| |
provides affordable transportation to over
400 individuals and families with free bus passes to get to doctor’s
appointment, work, school, grocery shopping, etc.

Neighborhood Connection Assistance Program (NCAP) |

assists families and individuals in
determining eligibility and applying for public benefits (food stamps,
Medicaid, Medicare, Patient Assistant Program, etc.).
